The charity provides a range of essential services, from support for those newly diagnosed, to lifestyle guidance, benefits advice, and campaigning for access to new treatments.

What is Myasthenia Gravis?

Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a long-term autoimmune condition that causes muscle weakness and fatigue. It occurs when the immune system disrupts the communication between nerves and muscles, making it harder for muscles to function properly. Common symptoms include drooping eyelids, double vision, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and weakness in the limbs or neck. In more severe cases, MG can affect breathing and become life-threatening. While there is currently no cure, the condition can often be managed with treatment, early diagnosis, and ongoing medical care.
